Situated in the heart of Zululand, this wildlife reserve is teeming with birdlife, wildlife and flowing landscapes, that roll majestically around the reserve and envelope the seasonal Mzinene River as it snakes its way through the reserve. As Ubizane Wildlife Reserve we are always thrilled when we have guests who return to stay with us. The last couple of days, Martin (our Kitchen Manager) and Wayne (our Lodge Manager) have been hard at work cleaning and planting. While cleaning the aviary, Nikita and Wayne noticed that one of the female rabbits was pulling her fur out and making a nest with it in one of the burrows. A couple of days later, they took a look and found that the rabbit had given birth to two healthy baby rabbits. We also have 2 little guinea pigs in our Aviary: Jeffery and a new guinea pig named Buddy. We also have a few different species of doves in our Aviary such as Laughing Doves, Ring-necked Doves, Tambourine Doves, Zebra Doves and Emerald Doves. Each one with their own unique call which you can hear the whole day through, from sunrise to sunset. We encourage all our readers and guests to come and visit the Aviary as well as our Ostriches new home the next time you come and visit. Family room only, Family room, Double bed and bunk beds with shower and bath, R 1,980.00 per room per night. Children aged 1-5 years stay free of charge when staying with 2 full paying adults. The package is perfect for guests who can only join Ubizane for a short stay or guests who already have dinner plans. This package provides the opportunity for self-catering and planning of activities at your discretion. It is perfect for family holidays when guests still want to cater for themselves whilst enjoying the wonders of the African bush here at Ubizane. There are braai (BBQ) areas available at Safari Lodge and braai wood, charcoal and firelighters can be supplied on request at an additional cost.
